Jinrikisha(Rickshaw in Takayama)
I saw rickshaws often in downtown Takayama. These are offered for tourists. you can hire a rickshaw to get around in the city. A ricksha man will draw a ricksha to show you around. I always worried about the ricksha man when he is pulling big people.
Apparently, this course is usually offered for 15 mins, 30 mins and an hour for two to three people, which also costs 3,000 yen, 5,000 yen and 10,000 yen for each. it would cost more for three. so when you feel tired of walking or when you wanna feel what a celeb is like to be, it might be a good idea to take a richshaw tour. by the way, I found a beautiful rickshaw picture from this site.

yeah… rickshaws are very traditional looking vehicle. some people hire them for their Japanese shinto style wedding having them carried to the shrine. You see Jinrikisha in some old historical cities in Japan such as Kyoto and Kamakura. I always wondered what its like to be carried by rickshaws. but never had a courage to do that…
