I want to distribute "infomapJAPAN" to introduce Japan for our customers.

We recommend use a great tool for searching timetable and fare, Hyperdia. This gives you quite detailed information for your travel from a point to another point. Hyperdia
For Tokaido Shinkansen timetable, "Travel Planner" is helpful. if you are a JR Pass holder, remember to select Traveling with "Hikari and Kodama" in optional conditions when searching. JR Pass holders cannot use Nozomi Trains. Travel Planner
About JR East Pass, if you want to travel same day as the day of your arrival, reservation cannot be made online from outside Japan?
One of the condition of JR East shinkansen reservation says you can't reserve a seat for the same day of your arrival as you have to pick up the ticket by 9:00 P.M. the day before.
you have to take one of the two options either booking a seat for the date after your arrival or using unreserved seat cars.

I want to know if I will pass through a lot of tunnels when I travel by train.
Yes. Even though Japan is a small country, the most of its land consists of mountainous regions.
Therefore, you will pass through many tunnels especially when you travel by the Shinkansen or train.
The following regions apparently have many tunnels:
- between ShinOsaka - Hakata(Sanyo Shinkansen Line), between Fukushima - Yonezawa(Yamagata Shinkansen Line), between Akita - Morioka(Akita Shinkansen Line), between Utsunomiya - Hachinohe(Tohoku Shinkansen Line), between Takasaki - Nagano(Nagano Shinkansen Line), between Takasaki - Nagaoka(Joetsu Shinkansen Line)
We are going to stay in Tokyo for a few days and would like to visit Kyoto and Hiroshima as well by train.
1. How much is a train return ticket from Tokyo via Kyoto to Hiroshima?
2. Can we buy this ticket with seat reservation in advance?
1. we suggest you to purchase JR Pass for 7 days. you have to finish your
return trip within 7days and there will be some restrictions such as you
can't use NOZOMI train, but you can save money.
check Japan Rail Passor http://www.japanrailpass.net/ for more detail.
otherwise, if you want to travel individually without JR pass, the exmaple fares are
as follows:
(By Shinkansen)
Tokyo --- Kyoto 13520 JPY (one way)
Kyoto --- Hiroshima 11090 JPY (one way)
Also Tokaido Shinkansen timetable search site is useful to plan your trip.
Tokaido Shinkansen Timetable Search
when using JR Pass, you can always select Hikari and Kodama from optional
conditions.
2. You can't reserve train ticket from
outside Japan for the area travelling by Tokaido Shinakansen (including Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, Himeji etc.). Tohoku Shinakansen offers
online purchase from outside Japan. Check JR East Pass Shinkansen Reservation
Which is better place to stay Hakone-yumoto or Motohakone for Hakone sightseeing on the following day?
I would suggest to stay in Motohakone.
Because Motohakone is close to Lake Ashi, one of the main spots in
Hakone. So if I go sightseeing the following day, I would start Hakone and
then take a ship from Motohakone to Shiojiri.(you can stop by Mt.Komagata ropeway on the way if you
have time) From Shiojiri, I will take Hakone Ropeway to stop by Owakudani and to last stop, Gora. then take train to odawara via Hakone yumoto.
I am planning to go for 2 nights stay in Takayama. Please let me know how best to cover the follwoing key attractions in Takayama

I only have about 1 and a half days to cover the above key places and hence would like advice on what is the best way.
